Tamil Nadu government employees and teachers will receive a 4% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) from 1st April, 2023.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin, has come forth with great news for government employees, teachers, and pensioners. The announcement of a 4% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) has been made, which will be effective from April 1, and will bring much relief to the beneficiaries. This hike will benefit a whopping 16 lakh employees and will result in an additional expenditure of Rs 2,366.82 crore. Despite the financial crisis that has been passed on from the previous regime and the Covid-related dip in revenue earnings, the government has kept its promise of fulfilling the needs of the employees. The increase in DA for government staff is in line with the central government’s hike and will be increased from 38% to 42%. All in all, this is a great move by the government that will help ease the burden on the beneficiaries during these trying times.
