50% DA Hike Cabinet Approved for KVS Employees and Pensioners: Today marks an important milestone for Central Government employees, as the Cabinet, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval for a substantial 50% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) effective from the onset of the new year on January 1, 2024. This decision, which is a testament to the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges posed by escalating inflation rates, is set to bring much-needed relief to Central Government employees and pensioners alike. The transition from the existing 46% to the new 50% of the Basic Pay/Pension will have a significant financial impact, amounting to a total of Rs.12,868.72 crore annually, encompassing both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief. This adjustment will benefit approximately 49.18 lakh Central Government employees and 67.95 lakh pensioners, aligning with the recommendations laid out by the 7th Central Pay Commission.
