Opening a New Recreation Club for Central Government Officials

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an important order on April 10, 2015, regarding the provision of amenities and recreational facilities for Central Government employees. The DoPT has recently reviewed the position and decided to increase the grants-in-aid for Recreation Clubs. These grants are now admissible at higher rates from the current financial year 2015-2016.

Central Government employees can now benefit from these grants-in-aid at the following rates:
(i) Rs. 25 per head per annum, which is higher than the existing rate of Rs. 10 per head per annum.
(ii) An additional grant-in-aid of up to Rs. 25 per head per annum as a matching grant, as opposed to the existing rate of Rs. 15 per head per annum.
(iii) A maximum grant of Rs. 25,000 instead of Rs. 10,000 for setting up a recreation club, subject to merit-based requirements.

Following these guidelines, the Central Secretariat Club has been recognized and registered under the Societies Registration Act, of 1960, to cater to the needs of Central Government employees. The Club offers a range of facilities, including a Bar & Restaurant, Free Yoga sessions, a Reading-cum-Library Room, Table Tennis, a Badminton Court, a Carrom Board, and Card Games.

If you are a Central Government official residing in Delhi and would like to avail yourself of these facilities, please email us at CentralSecttClub@gmail.com.
